Squat Right for Your Body Type

I must confess that I have had a love-hate relationship with the squat. I was fortunate to learn early on about the wonderful benefits of squats. However, when I started training I had no one to teach me how to squat properly. Finally, I learnt proper squat technique. However, I still had trouble with my technique and making solid progress. Part of the reason was I did not understand how structural proportions affect one's ability to squat or how to pick the best squat variation for my body type.

We all come in different shapes and sizes. As a result, squat mechanics change. In this video, I explain how different body proportions effect your ability to squat and how to pick the best variation for your body type.

Here are links to some of the squat variations I talked about in the video:
Goblet Squat (I didn't talk about this in the video, but this is where I start most beginners)
Zercher Squat (you likely won't like this one, but it is very forgiving for a bad squat structure)
